The National Weather Service stated that they had canceled their High Wind Warnings. However, it stated in a tweet that “gusty/variable winds” still remained. Previously, wind gusts had been registered in Boulder County up to 115 MPH, which was cited as a major contributing factor to the quick spread of the fire. However, the area was not out of the woods yet, as the fire continues to cause massive damage as the night falls....

Alex Charlton is currently working as a nurse in New York City amid the COVID-19 pandemic, but only weeks earlier he was restarting a college football coaching career thousands of miles away. Charlton, 29, had arrived in Wichita, Texas in early March to begin his job as an assistant wide receivers football coach for Midwestern State University (MSU). When the school was forced to close due to the virus, Charlton did not hesitate to take an opportunity to work as a nurse on front lines of the pandemic, at New York’s Mount Sinai hospital....

Buddy's Small Lots in Wayne, N.J., was actually closed Sunday night. But the lock malfunctioned and the lights were on, making it appear as though it were open. Cameras showed the men calling out for a clerk. Two can be seen depositing cash on the counter, one waving bills in the direction of a camera....

In the Coaches Poll, USC lost its first game of the season to Washington State and fell 10 spots. Meanwhile, Notre Dame, NC State and UCF worked their way on to the list. After a disappointing nonconference loss against Troy, LSU also fell out of the rankings this week. Georgia moved up after shutting down Tennessee. In the AP Poll, the biggest news was Clemson earning 17 first-place votes after beating Virginia Tech....

With the Big Ten and the Pac-12 conferences both opting against playing this fall because of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the college football schedule will look unusually light this season....
