Blood was pouring from the bridge of Cowgill’s nose after being struck in the eighth inning. He immediately put his hand over his face and started walking toward the Angels dugout. The Angels said Cowgill got stitches on his nose and was then taken to a hospital for further evaluation. The pitch by Matt West went over the bat and appeared to hit Cowgill flush on the face. It wasn’t clear if the ball tipped off the bat before hitting Cowgill....
“Accelerated” discussions are occurring in the state legislature over repealing the 2003 law, State Senate Majority Leader Steve Fenberg said to the Denver Post. This bill would allow the city to set its own terms on guns, but repealing the law wouldn’t mean Boulder creating gun laws less strict than those of the state, Fenberg said. The law Fenberg holds in question provides that “a local government may not enact an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the sale, purchase, or possession of a firearm that a person may lawfully sell, purchase, or possess under state or federal law....
Athletic director Jack Graham also ordered Lupfer to undergo anger management and diversity training at his own expense. Lupfer issued a statement saying he was grateful to keep his job on Jim McElwain's staff and said "I am deeply sorry for my behavior, which does not represent who I am or my values." Scott Green told the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee the school commissioned Hawley Troxell law firm to do an independent investigation into the indoctrination allegations brought on by a report written by the Idaho Freedom Foundation, the Idaho Press reported.
